Which websites is my email registered on? How to find out

By the HealthInbox team · October 2026 · 5 min read

It is one of the most searched privacy questions, and the honest answer starts with a disappointment: there is no central register of the websites where your email address has an account. Each site keeps its own user list and does not share it. But you can still rebuild your list with good accuracy, using records that you already have.

Be careful with "check your email on every site" tools

Some websites promise to check your address against hundreds of services at once. They work by trying to register or reset a password on each site with your address, which is against most sites' terms and can trigger security alerts on your accounts. Worse, you are handing your email address to an unknown operator, which is exactly how addresses end up on spam lists. Avoid them.

What actually works

Your inbox is the most complete record

Registering on a website almost always triggers a confirmation email. Search your inbox for subject:("welcome to" OR "confirm your email" OR "account created") and note every sender. Add password reset and new sign-in emails to catch the accounts you came back to later. Our complete guide lists the searches that find the most accounts.

Breach databases show the sites that leaked

Have I Been Pwned (haveibeenpwned.com) is the one trustworthy lookup: it is run by a well-known security researcher and only checks your address against breaches that were already published. Every result is a site where your email was registered.

Your saved passwords and social logins fill the gaps

Your browser's password manager and the "Sign in with Google", Apple or Facebook connection lists cover the accounts that never emailed you. Our guide on finding forgotten accounts shows where each list lives.

For one specific site, use its own login page

If you want to know whether you have an account on one particular website, go to its Forgot password page and enter your address. If an account exists, you receive a reset email. Only do this with your own address, one site at a time. If you have several addresses, our guide on finding which email an account uses goes further.

How complete will the list be?

Combining your inbox, breach records and saved passwords usually finds the large majority of your accounts. The inbox alone does most of the work, because it reaches back as far as you have kept your email.

Your inbox already knows every account you have. HealthInbox reads only your Gmail headers to list them all, flags the forgotten ones and tells you what to do with each, privately and on your device.
